Description:

This 1996 Mustang SVT Cobra comes with its original certificate of VIN authenticity from Ford Motor Co. It was assembled in Dearborn Michigan on May 3, 1996 and was build number 6,618 of 7,496. It has never been hit and has no visible signs of undercarriage rot. The chassis has 115,000 miles on the clock but the car was meticulously disassembled and restored between 2012-2015. The engine block was boiled and descaled, decked and line honed with new freeze out plugs. All block tappings were cleaned and chased. The crankshaft was re-ground .010 and radiused. The Pistons were reconditioned, re-ringed and changed over with Eagle H-Beam connecting rods. The entire rotating assembly was balanced and blueprinted. Cylinder heads were boiled and blasted. All valve guides were replaced with a complete 32 valve 3 angle valve job. All timing chain guides and tensioners, and oil pump have been replaced. Flywheel was machined and balanced with a complete new clutch assembly. Hydro Boost hoses were replaced and alignment was performed. Performance X pipe was installed along with Spin Tech dual side outlet exhaust. New rack and pinion bushings and rear trailing arms. Tremec 5-speed trani. MSD ignition system and K&N Highflow intake kit. Extra set of (2- rear only) Mickey Thompson P295/45/R17 ET STREET drag radials included. Interior is original with no rips, tears or unusual wear. Finally, the car was professionally stripped and repainted to its original “Laser Red” with custom (near “ghost”) tuxedo stripes. All original Cobra and SVT emblems have been re-installed. The car has been driven approximately 1,000 miles since restored. Serious inquiries are welcomed. Additional photos of any part of the car are available upon request. This vehicle has been garaged kept and never driven or parked in the rain since restoration was completed.

This head turning 1996 SVT Mustang Cobra was restored between 2012 & 2015. The stock 4.6 ltr DOHC engine was completely disassembled and meticulously and professionally rebuilt. The car was also repainted to its original Laser Red factory color with quality BASF Glasurit paint with ghost tuxedo stripes added. The car has never been hit and is in excellent condition. The interior is original and in good condition with no unusual or excessive wear. The factory manual transmission has been replace with a Tremec 5-speed manual. The exhaust has been replaced CAT-back with a Spin Tech dual side outlet exhaust system. Interested parties may request additional photos of any part of this vehicle.
