Description:

2000 Newmar Dutch Star, 35 FT Diesel Pusher with New Tow Dolly Included.
For sale is our 2000 Newmar Dutch Star.
8.3L Turbo Cummins ISC, 330HP. Allison 3000 Transmission. A beast, pulling the mountains. If you are looking for a very dependable, highly maintained and affordable entry-priced coach, then read this post very carefully.
The coach is entirely self contained, and all systems are functional, working properly and up to date. (See note on furnace blower motor below) The coach has an onboard 110v, 7500kw generator, washer and a new dryer. New convection microwave, 2 COLD A/C units on the roof, gas stove and oven, great hot water, shower, spacious bathroom area and a full rear bedroom with ceiling fan and great storage. Sleeps 4 to 6 comfortably.

The price also includes a brand new car tow dolly and bike rack accessories.

The story: we purchased the coach from the original owners, who were getting on in years. These folks had just spent a ton of money keeping the bus well maintained and many major repairs, such as Starter, Alternator, Radiator, Charge Cooler, refrigerator (too much to list here)... had been replaced.

(This is important!)
The original owners retained ALL records on this coach, including the original build and wiring schematics (these are almost NEVER obtainable on used coaches.)
We have every piece of information on every system, repair, maintenance and records, including the most RECENT laboratory oil sample records, proving ALL mechanical systems are clean, free of wear metals and are in full working order.
ALL tires are perfect, zero dry rot, no damage, great tread. Wheels are in great shiny shape.
Vehicle passed Maryland State Inspection no problem, last go-round.
Since we took ownership, the following has been professionally done:
Complete basement box frame, structure and floor newly rebuilt (2021), insulated, sealed and painted.
All work was done professionally at a highly qualified (And Awesome) coach repair facility in the DC area.
The fresh water, grey water and sewer bay has been completely rebuilt, internal floor has been done, all tanks cleaned, serviced and re-hosed where needed. No plumbing or piping leaks.
The entire battery compartment has been rebuilt. 6 fresh batteries, and ALL heavy battery cables from the compartment to termination have been replaced. The entire 50amp shore power electrical system including inverters, generator, automatic control system and charging systems are fresh, serviced and working perfectly.
The onboard ONAN generator had a complete professional service and checkout in 2021, there are (I think) 1,200 hours or so on the generator.
The coach has all brand new (air) brakes all the way around. New drums, hardware, shoes, 100% mechanically replaced and functioning well. Nothing is frozen, sticky or old. We have pictures and invoices to document and prove all work done.
The coach has new air suspension bags, all the way around. Rears done in 2019, fronts air suspension in 2021. All new parts there, too.
The upper (interior) floor of the coach was rebuilt, the entire front section under the front driver and passenger seats have had new subfloor, seat belt anchors and all critical hardware replaced. The flooring in the main coach was replaced as well. This was done properly, out to the edges of the bus, under the slide out, not hacked in around the slide out, as you see done in videos online.
We removed the original dinette, and have not replaced it, finding the current open setup better suited for our traveling needs.
ALL fluids in this coach are flushed, refreshed and new, with supporting oil test lab records and invoices to prove the work. ALL fluids.
The rear driveshaft U-joints have both been replaced and rebalanced. This bus rolls down the road with NO vibrations, drift, steering or suspension issues whatsoever. We also spent a ton of time isolating and fixing the typical interior coach rattles and noises, this old bus is quite literally more quiet and isolated than a brand new coach.
Importantly, the roof has been maintained, there are zero water leaks in the roof, the slide out is tight, sealed, working and does NOT have a rotted out box or floor.
The propane gas supply, piping and appliance have all been tested, serviced and work safely and fine. The propane leak detection safety system is also tested and functional.
The awnings work fine and seem to have no issues with the fabric.
What is wrong with the coach:
(1) The gas furnace (heating system) works well, I pulled and fully serviced the unit in 2022, however, since then, the furnace blower motor has gone out (we were using it in December) so the blower ($185.00) will have to be replaced before the furnace will "automatically" start and run. This is a quick, minor repair.
Again, the AC units are serviced and working beautifully.

Summary:

For the right family, this coach is a very dependable, strong and well maintained unit.
It is 20 plus years old, so you will find there are things you may want to fix, tweak or otherwise change, but operationally, it is camping and road ready this spring with minimal attention.
Mechanically, most of the usual expensive breakdown related things have been replaced, maintained and addressed. Backup camera works well.
The interior is very clean, comfortable and functional. The front seats show their age appropriately but function nicely.
We made the coach as safe and dependable as possible, it has great bones, and it runs strong. We've now enjoyed 2 trips around the country , it runs fantastic.
We just serviced the coach for this (2023) year, so fresh oil change, filters and has been checked out and ready to go, turn key this season!
We will show the coach in person, by appointment only, and will not respond to spam-bot requests to purchase over the phone, etc.
The first person that comes and agrees that the coach is a great entry-level value, with $55,995.00 or best reasonable offer in their hand... gets the coach.
Good luck in your hunt for a coach.
Come and see ours, if you're looking for an affordable and dependable entry level unit, you wont be disappointed.
The coach is registered and insured, so we can road test it for interested parties no problem.
