Description:
Jack Kerouac said it best, “this car represents freedom and desire and Go Go GO…” This burgundy 1949 Hudson Commodore is an absolute classic. In addition, this exceptionally good condition vehicle was the primary picture vehicle that starred in the 2012 motion picture “On the Road”. This vehicle is a rare find: not only a collector’s item, but a special piece of Hollywood history.
This Hudson has been kept in beautiful condition. At the time of filming, approximately $20,000 of major improvements were made to restore this vehicle to a state of excellent drivability and reliability. These improvements include a brand new 350 Chevrolet complete engine with 300HP, new TH 350 transmission, and new front and rear suspension. Additionally, the vehicle outfitted with new radial tires, new brakes and a new air conditioner. The interior was also restored with new seat and door coverings, new trim, and updated carpet for a clean and comfortable feel, without losing the classic look. The paint, redone at the same time, is the original Hudson Burgundy. The radio and antenna are original to the car. While the car is in very good condition, it has some minor flaws to the paint and interior. The buyer is happy to provide all relevant photos to parties with serious interest.
This stylish and well-maintained Hudson runs dependably despite its age, owing to the modern engine and transmission. With these improvements, you can be sure that this car is perfect for true drivers who can’t wait to hit the road. You can now be the proud owner of a piece of Hollywood history. Share the same seats as Kristen Stewart, Sam Riley and Garrett Hedlund. Your next adventure is waiting behind the wheel.
